Here is a picture of a church we saw on the way. It was an Orthodox church.

The place where the market was also houses children for summer camps. I saw these two horses there. Thought it would make for a good picture, but I don’t have a good story to go with it.

We walked across a bridge and below us were some river rapids.

Here is a picture of part of the mountains.

At around 6:00 PM we dropped of Bob, Debra, Barbara, Annetta, and Cynthia at the train station (seen below). They headed on an overnight train to Kiev while Tim and I drove back to where he lives in Lviv.

On the way to Lviv, Tim and I reflected on our week. He also shared many insights with me about how he got to where he is, what other types of things he does, and some good stories of being a missionary over here in Ukraine. When we got to his house in Lviv, his wife had cooked dinner for us. We ate with his wife, their daughter, one of their sons and one of his Ukrainian friends. We shared with them about some of the funny stories from the week and we talked about how great is our God.
Thought or lesson of the day: Tim taught me many things on the ride to Lviv. One thing he talked about was that a missionary has a responsibility to his work, but also has a responsibility to take care of his family. He gave me many great insights on that and helped to me with a few questions I had about that. Also, he told me some things that they did with the Ukrainian Churches that I could take back to the States with me. He said that I ought not to say things along the lines of, “Well that works for the people in Ukraine, but would never work in the United States.” He said that if some of the things they are doing to reach out to Ukrainians works in Ukraine, then that is not a reason to say it would not work in the United States. He acknowledged that yes we have different cultures and that some things may not work or have any effect on people. But, one thing I have tried to keep in mind this trip is that there is One Body of Christ and the Gospel message is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Tim taught me how he likes to lead his Bible Studies here and we are going to a couple later in the week. I am real excited about that and thing it will be a great learning experience. I learned many more things from him, but will share them over the next few days as I start to learn more.
