Day 14- Some General Thoughts on Ukraine

Today the main ministry thing we did was another Bible Study/English club. This time we were at Central Church

Looks a little different than the Art Studio. Hey, but it is the people that make up the church and not the building. Anyway, so tonight's group was small because they had not met in a couple of weeks and Tim thought that many people were out of town. But it was still a good group. Here are a couple pictures of our group tonight.

We talked about the passage in which Jesus describes himself as the Good Shepard and the gatekeeper. Two of the guys got real into it and you can tell that really believed it. The other guy did not get as into it, but maybe he is just shy. Anyway, I thought I would share in this post some general things I have learned about being in Ukraine. I will use pictures to help illustrate:

1. There is a lot of graffiti or writing on the walls. I know we have this in America too, but it seems a little more widespread here. I even noticed some writing on billboards too.

2.There are a lot of cobble stone streets. This is particular to Lviv more than Ivano-Frankivsk. Also, i did not take a picture but many of the other roads are kind of rough with a lot of pot holes and stuff. I have a new respect for what I thought were bad roads in the US.

3. People drive like crazy. This is just one example of many I could show you. In case you can not tell what is going on, the guy in the white car is making a two lane road into a three lane road. I have also seen two lane roads made into four lane roads. Also, one of the craziest things I have seen is there are some intersections that should have at least a stop sign or stop light and don't so people just kind of go when they want to. I know people think that driving in their city is the craziest, but I really have not seen it as crazy as it is here. Anyway, only one more day in Ukraine to write about. But I may not be able to write about that until i get back to the States.
